Chris Luff - CEO (aka "Chief Disruption Officer')

What do you do?
I make a lot of noise - talk a lot! Basically, I join the dots between people - and between organisations. I tend to do things differently in that I'll organise community-focused events myself, and make personal introductions. I spot opportunities for local businesses and strive to make things happen for them. I also engage with the local authorities and work with LEP as an envoy.

What’s the best thing about your job?
I love meeting like-minded people who are prepared to invest time in others, and I like seeing people win.

What was your first job?
I started life as a plumber - the youngest in the country. I worked for my father's company, Reliance, from the age of 8 years.

What do you do in your spare time?
I spend time in my local pub whenever I can and I love sailing. A 54 footer in the world’s biggest yacht race next summer to be precise. I'm currently looking for a crew...

What's on your bucket list?
To free fall skydive from a balloon and visit the Amazon rain forest.

Saffron Johnson - Operations Director

What do you do?
Apart from picking up the pieces left in the trail of disruption led by Chris, attempting to put them together and then make them work, I organize the Chamber events, manage the membership, marketing and partner relationships. I meet with all new and potential members, look after the existing ones and connect businesses with community and opportunity.
I also support the Export Team with documentation when I have to (I prefer people to paper !!!)

What is the best thing about your job?
I love watching the results unfold, connecting via our network and witnessing the success that follows. I love being part of this great team and working for a flexible, forward thinking organisation who are not afraid to think outside the box and make things happen.

What was your first job.
I worked in a Greengrocers everyday after school and at weekends from the age of 13.

What do you do in your spare time.
I like to spend time relaxing and socialising with family and friends, I enjoy music, cooking, eating and wine.

Whats top of on my bucket list.
Glastonbury ( In a Winnebago )
See the Northern Lights
Own an Aston Martin

Elizabeth Pressland - Export Co-coordinator

What do you do?
I help businesses with their documentation, making sure it's correct and that it enables them to get their goods safely to other countries.

What’s the best thing about your job?
Working with such a variety of people and their different businesses. It's an important job making sure the process goes smoothly for our clients and I take my role very seriously.

Where else have you worked?
A lot of corporate companies such as BT, British Gas, Virgin Media and GE Money so I understand something about how big firms operate and the challenges they face.

What do you do in your spare time?
I love the theatre and socialising, travelling and reading.

What's top of your bucket list?
To go on a round the world cruise.

Maria La Porta - Operations & Export

What do you do?
I manage day-to-day accounting and finance requirements, such as bookkeeping and maintaining detailed financial reports. I also have membership and general administrative duties. Finally, I work on the export side, processing documentation and maintaining records.

What’s the best thing about your job?
I love that my work is varied and that I'm part of such a great team. I've worked in a range of administrative and financial roles in large and small companies but, here at the Chamber, my work-life balance is perfect.

What do you do in your spare time?
I love spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, cooking and eating out.

Share something interesting (Include this Q&A only if the pic shows the silver streak in hair)
I was born with a silver streak in my hair my family say it’s a kiss from an angel and it gives me good luck!

What’s at the top of your bucket list?
To travel the world but I would have to overcome my fear of flying first. (So my super power would be teleporting!)

Tell us a joke
Why did Adele cross the road? To sing “Hello from the other side” of course!

Sarah O’Sullivan - Export & Admin Co-ordinator

What do you do in your spare time?
I like to chill out and socialise with family and friends, go to nice restaurants, drink cocktails, theatre shows and looking online at booking holidays!

What’s at the top of your bucket list.
The top of my bucket list is to visit the Iguazu falls in Brazil/Argentina!

Lee Keogh - Chamber Ambassador & Videographer

What do you do at the Chamber?
I have two roles with the chamber. As videographer and editor, I document the activities and work undertaken by the chamber and its members. My second role as an ambassador, is to spread the word, particularly about the Chamber of Conscience. In fact, I am an example of how the chamber actively helps young people, having experienced at first hand the power of its networking qualities and community spirit. So, if you have any questions or need a helping hand come and find me - I'm a great listener.

What’s the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is being able to take what would usually be written on paper and turn it into a visually interesting piece of video. I also enjoy networking with new people as it is an ideal place to inform and show people what I can do.

Tell us about your film background
I've pretty much devoted my life to being creative and breaking boundaries. My background is very film based. I studied Film & TV at West Herts College and have done numerous online courses in post production. My previous work includes being a video editor on projects for Britvic PLC, Herts Inclusive Theatre and the University of Hertfordshire.

What do you do in your spare time?
I love films so naturally I watch them in my spare time too! If I'm not in front of a screen, I'm probably at home eating something :) or driving around in my car. Family is very important to me and I love spending time with them whenever I can.

Tell us something interesting
Did you know that the blood elevator scene in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining was made famous by the film's trailer? However, when it was released in 1980 large amounts of blood were banned in trailers. So Stanley Kubrick convinced censors that the blood was actually “rusty water” to get it approved. It worked!
